Next Saturday, August 15, is Shelburne Day — a summer highlight brought to you by the Shelburne Farmers Market, Experience Shelburne, and the friends of Shelburne who volunteer to make it happen. Mark your calendars for a full day of fun in the Historic Village.

Here are some of the highlights:

Entries for our first-ever community art contest, Show Us Your Shelburne, will be on display — and community voting opens that morning.

There is still time to add yours

Entries close Monday, August 10 at 11:59 pm. Any medium you like — paint, drawing, photography, digital art, collage. One entry per artist. Young artists are welcome; under 18 just needs a parent or guardian’s permission.

More than two dozen community booths, spread out along Falls Road, the Village Green, the Library and the Municipal Campus, will be on hand to celebrate the best of our diverse community.

And, of course, we’ll have our usual stellar selection of farmers, makers, and musicians on the Parade Grounds.

And as the market winds down, continue the festivities at the Pierson Library from 2 to 5 pm — free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream on the library green (while supplies last) and a live set from Ernest James Zydeco.
